Hattiesburg, MS – Sacred Heart Catholic School is proud to announce the signing of two additional seniors, Sophie Bell and Zach Rhynehardt, to play collegiate sports. A ceremony was held on the high school campus to indicate their commitment to play soccer at two Mississippi community colleges next year.
Bell signed with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. “Today has been special because I have been able to share this moment with my friends, coach and family,” said Bell. “Seeing the support from the school is truly amazing. I worked hard for something that I love. I am very excited to continue playing at the next level.”
Rhynehardt signed with Southwest Mississippi Community College in Summit, Miss. “I am excited to further my soccer skills as well as my academic career. I believe this next step will better me as a person,” said Rhynehardt. “Soccer has always been a great escape for everything. I have put in the hours, hard work and heart to have this opportunity.”
“Sacred Heart has a tradition of excellence with its soccer program,” said Wayne Pittman, Athletic Director. “We have won ten state titles and fourteen south state titles with seven alumni playing collegiate soccer this fall. It is impressive to see more Sacred Heart students receive the opportunity to play soccer at the next level. It speaks to the outstanding reputation and successful program built over the years.”
Sacred Heart Catholic School competes in the 2A classification of the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA). Crusader Soccer has begun, and fans can cheer for the girls and boys soccer teams at the Athletic Complex on Veterans Memorial Drive. Romar Smith is the head coach for the Boys Soccer team and Joe Falla, Sr. is the head coach for the Girls Soccer Team.
