Sacred Heart Catholic High School Announces New Principal

 
The Catholic Diocese of Biloxi and Fr. Ken Ramon-Landry have announced that Keith Brackett will be the next principal of Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Hattiesburg.
After a national search, a search committee comprised of parents, faculty, and administrators chose Brackett, who has been in secondary school leadership for 8 years in Texas. Brackett, a native of Hattiesburg, also attended Sacred Heart Catholic School. His father David Brackett was head football coach for Sacred Heart.
Mr. Brackett has 29 years of service in education. "The Catholic Diocese of Biloxi is pleased to welcome Mr. Keith Brackett as the new principal of Sacred Heart Catholic High School.  Mr. Brackett will be charged with our mission of forming intentional disciples of Christ and ensuring academic excellence for the coming years.  He has a vision for the future of Sacred Heart Catholic High School and short-range and long-range goals to achieve that vision.  We look forward to working with Mr. Brackett and all the stakeholders at Sacred Heart Catholic School to continue the 121-year tradition of Catholic education in the Pine Belt." said Dr. Rhonda Clark, Catholic Diocese of Biloxi superintendent.
Brackett is currently the assistant principal of special areas at Braswell Zone in Denton ISD, Texas. He has been an assistant principal at the middle school and high school level for 8 years. He will start at Sacred Heart in March.
"Mr. Brackett brings a wealth of educational leadership to his alma mater. His dynamic approach to educating well-rounded, college-prepared students in a Christian environment is a perfect fit for Sacred Heart Catholic School,"  said Dave Ware, search committee member.
Brackett received a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi, studied special education at Furman University, and received his master’s degree in educational leadership from Jackson State University. He worked with inpatient child and adolescent services at Pine Grove while in college and was a case manager serving the Adolescent Offender Program at Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources.
