Powerlifting Team Earns First State Championship

Sacred Heart Powerlifters earned their first-ever 1A State Championship on Saturday, April 21st. Several lifters broke records and earned individual titles: Gavin Bradford broke the state dead-lift record with a 605 pound lift and broke the squat record with a 650 pound squat; Gavin also earned a 1st place win in the 308+ weight category; Ben Dunn broke the dead-lift state record at 605 pounds and earned a 1st place win in the 132 pound weight class; Tanner Blakeney earned a 1st place win in the 181 pound weight class; Joey French won 1st in the 165 pound weight class; Garrett Crowder placed 2nd in the 242 pound weight class; Grady Leek placed 2nd in the 200 pound weight class; Ethan Mooney placed 3rd in the 198 pound weight class; and Christopher Hunter-Durr placed 3rd in the 132 pound weight class.
