The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) at Sacred Heart is a group of volunteer parents, teachers and staff who work tirelessly to assist the school in providing a positive school experience for its students. Each Sacred Heart parent is automatically a member of the PTO and is encouraged to participate in its many activities. The Sacred Heart PTO serves as both a community building and fundraising organization. Its many volunteers have been instrumental in helping the school raise funds for critical projects at the school, including, but not limited to, the purchase of promethean boards, state-of-the-art athletic equipment, and a school bus. The PTO's two primary fundraising events during the school year are the Crusader 5K in the fall and Salute! Sacred Heart in the spring. These fundraisers are essential to helping Sacred Heart raise additional funds to support its curriculum, infrastructure, teachers, athletics and other designated areas of need.
We are in need of volunteers to help make this year's race a HUGE success! Volunteers will help with set up, race packet distribution, water stations and more. This is a GREAT opportunity to earn your family service hours as well as student service hours for our Jr. High and High School students. Registration for the Crusader 5K this year will be all online. Please use the below link to register for this exciting and fun event.
Each registered family at Sacred Heart Catholic School is required to perform 15 hours of creditable service to the school each year. Families receiving financial assistance are required to perform 30 hours per school year. This program is administered as a service of the PTO and is enforced by the Principal, the Pastor and the School Advisory Council of Sacred Heart Catholic School.
All service hours for the school year must be completed prior to May 10th of each year. Hours should be recorded on the family’s service hour card in the elementary or high school office. A record of all volunteer service to the school will be kept by the PTO officers and the school administration. Those families who do not fulfill their required service hours will be assessed a $150 fee by the school at the end of the school year, and report cards will be held until the fee is paid.
Service hours will be limited to creditable service in areas such as those listed below:
- PTO Events
- Cafeteria Volunteer
- School Sporting Events
- Classroom/Office Helper
- Room Parent
- PTO Board
- Field Trip Chaperone
- General Maintenance
