Class of 2020

Felix Anima

Felix Anima is the son of Jesus and Felicia Anima.  Felix has attended Sacred Heart since the seventh grade.  Felix is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Felix has played soccer and won the 2019 and 2020 state championships with his team. Felix will be graduating this year and will be attending Jones College.

Blythe Beason

 

Patrick Garrett Bell

Patrick Garrett Bell IV has attended Sacred Heart since Kindergarten. His favorite teacher is Coach Kern, and his favorite subject is History. He has been Class Treasurer, Student Council Treasurer, Media Club Treasurer, Beta Club Vice President and a member of Campus Ministry. Garrett has also been a member of the Mayor's Youth Council. He was a member of the Cross Country Team, played on the Soccer Team since seventh grade, winning two State Championships. He was All District First Team 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th grades as well as Central Mississippi All Star in 11th and 12th grades. Garrett is planning on playing soccer at Jones College and majoring in Health Care Administration. 

Carlo Catlett

Carlo Catlett is the son of Marvin and Carla Catlett. He has attended Sacred Heart since Pre-Kindergarten and will be graduating this year. He hopes to go to Pearl River Community College and then transfer to a University.

William Ryan Doherty

William Ryan Doherty is the son of Robert Doherty and Samantha and Rex Ginn. Ryan has attended Sacred Heart Catholic School since Pre-Kindergarten. Ryan played flag football and tackle football for two years and basketball for three years. Ryan has been a member of the Power Lifting team since the 11th grade, and he is the Senior team captain. Ryan will be attending Pearl River Community College in the Fall majoring in Engineering. 

Rebecca Dunn

Rebecca Dunn, Sacred Heart’s senior class president, is the daughter of Randy and Cecile Dunn. Rebecca has attended Sacred Heart since the third grade. She has been a member of Student Council (serving as Secretary in 2019-2020), Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, and Junior and Senior Beta Club. She has served as a water girl for the football team for the past four years. Rebecca has also cheered and played basketball during her time at Sacred Heart. She attends church at Kensington Woods Church of Christ. She will graduate as a Mississippi Scholar and with honors. In the fall, she is planning to study Speech Pathology/Audiology at the University of Southern Mississippi as a Lucky Day scholar and a member of the Honors College. To the top! 

William Evans

William Evans, son of Lamar and Kelly Evans, has attended Sacred Heart Catholic School for the past 14 years. He is a proud member of the 14 Year Club, Center Stage, and holds the title of former Junior Beta President. William has spent his high school years pursuing his passion for music, beginning several creative projects in the process. A future congressman, he will fittingly enroll at the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Computer Science, with a possible major in Jazz Studies.

Gabrielle Anne Falla  

Gabrielle Anne Falla is the daughter of Joe and Julie Falla and has attended Sacred Heart since Pre-Kindergarten. She has participated in Student Council, Junior and Senior Beta, Senior Beta Club President (2019-20), Campus Ministry and retreat Team Leader, Campus Ministry Good Shepard Award 2019, and Media Club founding member. She is a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church. In addition to soccer, she was a member of the Basketball district champions in 2020, 4x Soccer State Champions, Soccer Leadership Award 2017,18,19,Track and Field, and Football Manager.  "Gabby" was selected by her classmates as 2019 Homecoming Queen. She is graduating as a Mississippi Scholar and has been awarded an East Central Soccer scholarship. She will be attending East Central Community College to play soccer and major in Marketing and Public Communications. 

Maggie Filce

Maggie Filce is the daughter of Hollie and Richard Filce. She has attended Sacred Heart since Kindergarten. Maggie is a member of the Campus Ministry and has been a member of the soccer team since the seventh grade. She is also a member of Saint Thomas Catholic Church and has been a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church youth group for two years. Maggie will be graduating as a Mississippi Scholar and plans to attend Mississippi State University in the fall where she will major in Elementary Education.

Jeffrey Flathau

Jeffrey “Heath” Flathau is the son of Jeff and Heather Flathau. He has attended Sacred Heart since Pre-Kindergarten. Heath took a brief leave of absence his 11th grade year to move to Houston Texas, where he attended school, lived with a host family and played soccer with the U.S. Development Academy. Heath has been a member of Jr and Sr Beta Club, All A Honor Role and Campus Ministry.  He lettered three years in track, winning first place at the State Meet for the 1600m and 3200m in 8th grade and third place at the State Cross Country meet (where he ran the race with only one shoe).  Heath participated on the Varsity Soccer team since 7th grade, attending three State Championships and won the Golden Ball in 2020.  Heath played in the MS Senior All-Star Game and was picked as Pine Belt Player of the year and for The Clarion Ledger‘s All State First Team. Heath is also a member of Main Street United Methodist Church. Heath will be graduating this year as a Mississippi Scholar with Honors. He plans to attend UAB to play soccer and major in Global Public Health.

Eleanor Catherine Forsyth

Eleanor Catherine Forsyth is the daughter of Mac and Lisa Forsyth. She has been at Sacred Heart since Kindergarten.  She has been an attorney member of the Mock trial team for three years. Ellie participated in the National History Day competition four years, winning the state title in her category for three of those years.  Her projects were selected twice to be displayed at the Smithsonian American History Museum. Ellie will be attending USM in the Fall, majoring in History with plans to attend law school.  She was awarded an academic excellence scholarship, a Mississippi Scholar scholarship, and the South Central Alumni scholarship.

Jacob Galaher

Jacob Galaher is the son of Geof and Chris Galaher. He has attended Sacred Heart since the seventh grade. Jacob is a member of the ACT 30+ club, Junior and Senior Beta, and the Campus Ministry Team. He has played soccer for the Crusaders since the seventh grade and won state championships with the team in both the 2018/19 season and the 2019/20 season. Jacob was also a member of the track team from 7th until 11th grade and made it to the state meet every year for long-distance running from 8th grade until 11th grade. Jacob attends St. John’s Episcopal Church in Laurel, Ms. He is graduating with Honors and as an AP Scholar and Mississippi Scholar. Jacob is planning to attend the University of Mississippi, majoring in Biomedical Engineering.

Jasmine Gibbs

Jasmine Gibbs is the daughter of Mar and Sher Gibbs. She has attended Sacred Heart since the tenth grade. Jasmine is a member of the ACT 30+ Club, a former member of the yearbook staff, and a member of the Campus Ministry Team. She also participated in varsity soccer for the past three years (state champions in 2018 and 2019) and received the Best Defender award. Jasmine is a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She will be graduating this year as an AP Scholar with honors. She plans to attend the University of Colorado in the fall where she plans to play soccer and major in business.  

Bennett Gibson
 
Bennett is the son of Kim and Todd Gibson. He has attended Sacred Heart Catholic School since Pre-Kindergarten. He has been a been a member of Junior and Senior Beta Clubs and the Campus Ministry Team.  He has lettered in Varsity Soccer with State Championships in 2019 and 2020 and has been named to the All-District 1st team in 2018, 2019, and 2020. Bennett is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He plans to attend Jones College in the fall where he will be continuing his soccer career.

Sarah Caroline Grubbs

Sarah Caroline Grubbs, born December 17, 2001, is the daughter of Jim and Amy Grubbs of Hattiesburg. She has attended Sacred Heart Catholic School since Pre-Kindergarten and has been a member of the Sacred Heart Swim Team since the ninth grade. She has been team captain since 11th grade. She is a member of Junior Beta Club, Beta Club, National Honor Society, National Society of High School Scholars, Mu Alpha Theta, Environmental Club, and ACT 30+ Club. She has served in leadership roles as captain of the swim team, NHS secretary, Mu Alpha Theta treasurer and home room representative for the senior class. Sarah has received awards such as the Wellesley College Book Award in 2019, Outstanding Undergraduate Scholar in 2018-2019, and Honor Roll in 9th-12th grades. She is graduating with Special Honors and is a Mississippi Scholar. She has maintained a GPA of 3.9 while achieving a score of 30 on the ACT. After graduation, Sarah plans to attend Mississippi State University.

Luke Hicks

Luke Hicks is the son of Clark and Kathia Hicks. Luke has been a Sacred Heart Crusader since Kindergarten. Luke is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, Sr. Beta Club, National Honor Society, All A Honor Roll (9th-11th), and a MHSAA Scholar Athlete (9th-11th).  Luke played varsity basketball for three years and varsity baseball for four years. In basketball, Luke received the Coach’s Award, the Most Improved Player Award, and was named to the All Region 8 District Team in his senior year.  In baseball, Luke received the Most Improved Player Award, the Best All Around Player Award, the Most Valuable Player Award, and was named All Region 8 District team in his junior year.  He lettered in both basketball and baseball.  Luke has served on the Mayor’s Youth Council and is a member of University Baptist Church.  Luke will graduate with Special Honors and a 4.0 GPA. He will attend Samford University in the fall, where he plans to double major in biology and history.

Madeline Hinton

Madeline Hinton is the daughter of Amy and Don Hinton. She has attended Sacred Heart since Pre-Kindergarten. Madeline has been a member of the National Honor Society (serving as Treasurer in 2019-2020), Jr and Sr Beta Club, Mu Alpha Theta, ACT 30+ Club, and is a Campus Ministry Leader. Madeline has been a member of the Mock Trial Team for four years where she placed second at the State Competition her sophomore year and first at the State Competition her junior and senior years. She has been a member of the Varsity Cheer Team for four years (serving as Cheer Captain her junior year), and the Varsity Golf Team for six years, where she advanced to the State Competition in the 8th, 9th, and 11th grades. Madeline is a member of University Baptist Church and will be graduating this year as an AP Scholar and Mississippi Scholar with Special Honors. She plans to attend the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College at the University of Mississippi.

Heath Hogan

Heath Hogan is the son of Glen and Pam Hogan. He has attended Sacred Heart since the sixth grade. Heath has been a member of the soccer team since the seventh grade. He lettered in varsity soccer and helped lead the Crusaders to back-to- back State Championships in 2019 and 2020. He was named to the All-District team in 2018, 2019, & 2020. He was also chosen for the Central Mississippi All-Star Soccer team in 2020. Heath is a member of the Campus Ministry Team. His Catholic faith is important to him. He actively participates in school mass and often volunteers to be lector. In addition, he has attended “March for Life” the past two years. Heath is a member of St. Fabian Catholic Church. He is active with the youth group and he spends part of the summer working on mission trips to Mount Bayou. Heath will graduate as a Mississippi Scholar.  He received an athletic scholarship to Jones College.  He will be attending Jones in the fall, where he plans to play soccer and study Business.

Jillian Hoggins

Jillian Hoggins is the daughter of Tania and Jim Hoggins. She has attended Sacred Heart since Pre-Kindergarten. She has been a member of Junior and Senior Beta Club and the Campus Ministry Team. Jillian has participated in Soccer for six years (state champions 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019) and Varsity Track for two years. She attends St. Thomas Catholic Church. She will be attending Mississippi State University in the fall, majoring in Biology.

Baylee Grace Hollimon

Baylee Grace Hollimon is the daughter of Brian and Shelly Hollimon. She has attended Sacred Heart since the fifth grade. She played percussion in elementary. She has been a cheerleader for seven years and has played junior varsity and varsity softball in high school. She was elected to represent her class as Senior maid for homecoming 2019. Baylee is a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and plans to attend Jones College this fall.

Brayden Earl Hollimon

Brayden Earl Hollimon is the son of Brian and Shelly Hollimon. He has attended Sacred Heart since the fifth grade. Brayden played percussion and football in elementary school. He played junior varsity and varsity baseball and junior varsity and varsity soccer in high school where his team won the state soccer championships in 2019 and 2020.  He was also member of Beta Club. Brayden is a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and plans to attend Jones College this fall.

Ryan Holmes

Ryan Holmes is the daughter of Brad and Nicole Holmes. She has attended Sacred Heart Catholic School since Pre-Kindergarten, making her a member of the Fourteen Year Club. Ryan is the President of the National Honor Society and the Treasurer of Senior Beta Club. She is also a member of the ACT 30+ Club, Mu Alpha Theta, Campus Ministry, and the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Team. She is also a member of St. Fabian Catholic Church. Ryan will be graduating with special honors as the Valedictorian of the 2020 class and as a Distinguished AP Scholar and a Mississippi Scholar. She plans to attend Mississippi State University where she will be part of the Shackouls Honor College and will be majoring in Biomedical Engineering with a Pre-med track.

Hyde Hopson

Hyde Hopson is the daughter of Jay and Michelle Hopson. She has attended Sacred Heart since the ninth grade. Hyde is a member of the Junior/Senior Beta Club. She has been on the Archery team for two years. Hyde served as a Forrest General Hospital Spirit Girl for two years. She is a member of the Junior Auxiliary Crown Club also for two years where she serves as chair for Edwards’s Street food pantry bag decoration. Hyde is a member of Main Street UMC where she is active with her youth group. Hyde has received an Academic Excellence Scholarship from the University of Southern Mississippi where she plans to attend and major in Library Science.

Liam Irizarry

Liam Irizarry is the son of Dr. & Mrs. Luis Irizarry. He transferred to Sacred Heart in the seventh grade. He has played on the Soccer team every year, except his junior year. He was also a member of the Track team. Liam plans to attend Mississippi State University in the fall and has been accepted to their engineering program.

Ella Leek

Ella Leek, Sacred Heart’s Student Body President, is graduating with Special Honors as a Distinguished AP Scholar and a Mississippi Scholar. She has attended Sacred Heart since Kindergarten and has been a member of the ACT 30+ Club, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Jr. and Sr. Beta Club, and Student Council. Ella served as President of the Speech and Debate team for two years, winning a state championship title as a junior. As captain of the Mock Trial team as well, she won two state championships with her team. Ella is currently the top-ranked Mock Trial student in the state of Mississippi. In addition to debate, she was a water girl for the football team for four years. In the fall, she will be attending Tulane University to study Public Health. Roll Wave!

Mary Elizabeth McIntire

Mary Elizabeth McIntire is the daughter of Troy and Betsy McIntire and sister to Tess, a sophomore at Sacred Heart. She has been a Sacred Heart Crusader since Pre-Kindergarten and is graduating as a member of the ACT 30 + Club. Mary has served Sacred Heart as a cheerleader since third grade, and led the junior high and varsity squad as head cheerleader. A member of the Lady Crusaders basketball team since the seventh grade, Mary also ran varsity track in 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th grade year when she medaled at the State meet for the 4x2 relay. Mary also competed on the Mock Trial team in 9th, 10th and 11th grade, in which she won a state championship and competed at the National Mock Trial Competition. Mary is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Campus Retreat Team and the Senior Beta Club. In the summer before her 12th grade year, Mary was awarded the Trent Lott Leadership Institute scholarship and attended the University of Mississippi for a four-week session followed by a trip to Washington D.C. Mary is a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and will attend the Honors College at the University of Alabama this fall.

Elizabeth Sloan Mulloy

Elizabeth Sloan Mulloy is the daughter of Trent and Elizabeth Mulloy. She has attended Sacred Heart since the seventh grade. Sloan has been a member of the ACT 30+ Club, Junior and Senior Beta Club (serving as Secretary 2019/2020), National Honor Society (serving as Vice President 2019/2020), Mu Alpha Theta, and Media Club. She also participated in varsity tennis for four years and varsity cheer for two years. She was a part of the Mock Trial team for four years, winning two state championships and placing third in the state as a most effective witness. She is also a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church. She is graduating with Special Honors, Mississippi Scholars, and as an AP Scholar. Sloan will be attending Fordham University in New York City, NY where she will be majoring in Theatre Design and Production, with a concentration in Costume Design. 

Christian Nesser

Christian Nesser is the child of John and Shanna Nesser. Christian has attended Sacred Heart School since he was in Pre-Kindergarten. Christian was a member of the Student Council from 7th-11th grade (vice president during the tenure of eleventh grade). Christian is also a member of both Junior and Senior Beta, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta since 10th grade (vice president during 11th grade and president during the 12th grade year). Christian has been a member of the STEM Competition Team since the eighth grade and most recently served as the captain for the twelfth grade season. During his JV years, Christian played soccer and was a member of the junior high speech and debate team. Christian is a member of St. Fabians Catholic Church. Christian will be graduating as a Mississippi Scholar along with special honors. Christian plans to attend the University of Southern Mississippi and will pursue a major in Sports Management.

Jakob Painter

Jakob Painter is the son of Dr. Christopher and Mrs. Nicole Painter. He has been attending Sacred Heart since the third grade. Jakob participated on the track team in seventh grade. He has been a member of the soccer team since seventh grade. Jakob was involved with the school's campus ministry team as well and a member of the senior beta club. Jakob served as the sophomore class president. Jakob will be attending Copiah-Lincoln Community College this fall to play soccer, with plans to transfer to a four-year university to major in Biology.

Javier A. Parada Reyes

Javier A. Parada Reyes is the son of Francisco Parada and Magdelys Reyes. Born in Venezuela, he moved to the U.S. in 2017. He transferred from School Joseph Lancaster in Venezuela to Sacred Heart the very same year he arrived to the United States. In 2016 he won the Venezuelan National Mathematics Olympics with a gold medal. Javier joined the Sacred Heart family in the tenth grade. He is a member of the ACT 30+ Club, National Honor Society, National Society for High School Scholars, and a Questbridge 2019 Finalist. He has been a member of the STEM Competition Team since the 10th grade where he received Recognitions by the BOBCAT Math League in 2020. He participated in the Mississippi Science and Mathematics Tournaments hosted by Mississippi College where he placed in the top 10 in Math and top 20 in Physics. Javier is graduating with Special Honors and as a Mississippi Scholar. Javier plans to attend Rice University in Houston, Texas where he will pursue a degree in Engineering.

Jordan Mackenzie Pittman

Jordan Mackenzie Pittman ia the daughter of Jeff and Jan Pittman. She has attended Sacred Heart since the ninth grade. Jordan is a member of the Beta Club, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta (serving as Vice President in 2019-2020), and serves as a Campus Ministry leader and member of Student Council. She has also participated in Varsity Cheer for three years and was selected as Co-Captain in the 2019-2020 season. Jordan is a member of Arlington Baptist Church. Jordan will be graduating this year with Special Honors and as a Mississippi Scholar. She hopes to attend the University of Southern Mississippi in the fall where she plans to pursue a degree in Nursing.

Logan Ratliff

Logan Ratliff, son of John and Laura Ratliff, he attended Sacred Heart since Pre-K and is a proud member of the 14-year club. He lettered with the SHS Bowling team which he was a member of for 2 years, he is a member of the S.T.E.M. Competition Team, in which he participated in several Regional and State competitions. Logan was an Alter Server at SHS masses since his Middle School years. Logan is a member of Sacred Heart Church. Logan will be attending Mississippi State University in the fall majoring in Computer Engineering.

Shelby Paige Reams

Shelby has attended Sacred Heart since Kindergarten and is the daughter of Robert and Aimee Reams. Shelby has earned varsity letters in Softball, Swim, and Bowling. She is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, Campus Ministry, and Junior/Senior Beta Clubs. Shelby will graduate with honors and plans to attend the University of Southern Mississippi where she will pursue a degree in visual arts. She hopes to use her passion for the arts to eventually help others either in a therapeutic setting or a classroom setting.

Ewan Robinson

Ewan Robinson is the son of Traci Stover and Chris Robinson. He has been attending Sacred Heart since Kindergarten. Ewan served as a member of both Junior and Senior Beta Club. He participated in junior varsity basketball in ninth grade, junior varsity and varsity soccer in his junior and senior year, and has played baseball from seventh through twelfth grade, playing as a starter since ninth. Ewan will be graduating this year as a Mississippi Scholar with Special Honors. He plans to attend Mississippi State University where he will major in Engineering.

Kaitlyn Margaret Schock

Kaitlyn Margaret Schock is the daughter of Jon and Sara Schock and Tammy and James Thompson. Kaitlyn transferred to Sacred Heart her senior year from Pearl River Central High School. She is a member of the Lady Crusaders softball team. At Pearl River Central HS, Kaitlyn participated in the Blue Masquers competition theatre program, Science Club and Environmental Club. Kaitlyn plans to attend the University of Southern Mississippi majoring in Mathematics (licensure). Her goal is to teach high school trigonometry. Kaitlyn is the recipient of an Academic Excellence Scholarship. 

Judson Eugene Treganowen

Judson Eugene Treganowen is the son of Torey and Jeri Treganowen. He has attended Sacred Heart since Kindergarten. Judson is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He has played football, basketball, and baseball since the 7th grade. Judson is graduating as a Mississippi Scholar with Academic Honors. Judson will be attending the University of Southern Mississippi where he has been awarded the Arlyn Trussell  Scholarship as well as the Academic Excellence Scholarship. He will be majoring in Sports Management with a minor in Marketing. 

Dylan Walker

Dylan Walker is the son of Thomas and Tracy Walker. Dylan has attended Sacred Heart since the eighth grade. Dylan played Football during his 8th, 9th, and 11th grade years. During his Senior year, Dylan was a part of the Powerlifting Team. He also served as part of the Yearbook Staff during his Senior year. Dylan will be attending Jones College with a major in Engineering.

Liam Walker

Liam Walker is the son of Thomas and Tracy Walker. Liam has attended Sacred Heart since the tenth grade. Liam will be attending Jones College with a major in Chemical Engineering.

Abigail Wiest

Abigail Wiest was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Dr. Andrew and Jill Wiest. She has attended Sacred Heart since Kindergarten and is graduating as Salutatorian of the class of 2020.  Abigail plans to attend the University of Alabama in the fall. She is also graduating as a National Merit Finalist, a National Merit Scholar, a Master AP Scholar, a Mississippi Scholar,  with special honors and a semifinalist in the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program.  Throughout her high school career, Abigail has participated in varsity cheerleading, basketball, and softball.  She has also been a part of National Honor Society, National Society for High School Scholars, Senior Beta Club, the 30+ ACT Club, Mu Alpha Theta, and the Retreat Team. Abigail has also participated in National History Day, winning four state titles for the individual documentary category, as well as awards for oral history. She has published a documentary in the International Journal of Naval History, and she has published a podcast in Mississippi Moments through the University of Southern Mississippi and Mississippi Public Broadcasting.  Abigail was junior homecoming maid last year.

Logan Winstead

Logan Winstead is a member of the 30+ ACT Club, the Environmental Club and the Retreat Team. She has also been a counselor at Camp Bratton Green for several years. She will attend Mississippi State University in the fall.
